Comedian-writer-actor-producer Tony Rock is back on Primetime as the host of TVOne’s new outrageous game show “The Game of Dating,” premiering January 2017.
Coming off an extraordinary busy year hosting shows like “All Def Movie Awards” on Fusion, “All Def Comedy” on HBO, weekly series shows like “The Warm Up” on NBATV and “Mann and Wife” on Bounce, this favourite comics, favourite comic has been busy gearing up for another eventful year. Starring in films such as “Couples Night” slated for a release later this year, and back to back tour dates, Tony Rock continues to exceed all expectations, causing laughter everywhere he goes.
Currently Tony Rock is also the host of popular prime time fun dating show The Game of Dating on TVOne. Rock famously starred in brother Chris Rocks Everybody Hates Chris and starred as a main character in the movies Think Like a Man and Three Can Play That Game. Rock hosted The Funny Spot on TV One and hosted the game show Can You Tell? for Oprah Winfrey's Oh! Oxygen network. He was a correspondent for BattleBots on Comedy Central for the show's fifth season. Other appearances include The Howard Stern’s Show and The D'Angelo Show. He performed in New York with Mark Curry and John Hentonnto highlight the Apollo Theatre and also co-starred as Dirk Black on the UPN/CW sitcom All of Us. Born in the same Brooklyn New York Hospital where most of his eight brothers and sisters found their way into the world, Tony Rock was born laughing. Being the fourth child, of Rose Rock and Julius Rock, Tony had a natural knack for entertaining. Decatur Street in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighbourhood, where he grew up, was one of the toughest that New York had to offer. It also provided a host of rich characters on which to draw. Now residing in Los Angeles, Tony has taken Hollywood by storm.
Being the brother of an established entertainer, Tony was able to successfully elude the shadows of his older sibling and step into his own limelight. Tony has proven himself as one of the most talented, well-respected entertainers in the business. After more than a decade of experience, Tony has proven himself as a skillful comedian, actor, and executive producer.
In the early 2000's, Rock hosted a game show entitled Can You Tell? for Oprah Winfrey's Oh! Oxygen network. He was also a correspondent for BattleBots on Comedy Central for the show's fifth season. Rock starred in his own sketch comedy TV series, The Tony Rock Project, was broadcast on MyNetworkTV from 2008 to 2009. On February 19, 2010, Comedy Central aired Tony Rock's feature on Season 14 of Comedy Central Presents. His episode was the first original of the 2010 season.
In 2012, Rock starred in Think Like a Man, a feature film based on Steve Harvey's 2009 book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.In the same year, Rock began hosting Apollo Live on BET. Rock appeared as a guest on the Wendy Williams show in February 2017.
